Victor Anton was born in Worthing on 27th October 1909. At the outbreak of war Victor Anton served his country as a local fire-fighter, before spending three years in prison as a conscientious objector.

During the 1950’s he lived at Loughton, Essex. By the early 1960’s he was living living in Holland Park and then Belsize Park, where he continued to sculpt and paint while earning a living as a newspaper editor.

He exhibited in the U.K. and internationally with Contemporary British Artists (British Council) France 1951, British Artist Craftsmen (British Council) U.S.A. 1959-60. Exposition International de Sculpture. La Sarraz 1963. Sculpture 60-66 (Arts Council) 1967.

Solo exhibitions were held in London at Northumberland Avenue Gallery 1952, Gimpel Fils Gallery 1953, Gabowski Gallery 1963, Lords Gallery 1965, University of Birmingham 1974.

He was also represented in group exhibitions at Drian Gallery 1959, Gimpel Fils Gallery 1952 – 1967 – 1969, Hendon Experimental Arts Club 1953, I.C.A. 1958, Paris Gallery 1959
